Zaide - Species

Before commenting about the "unoriginallity" of the species, please read all of the links below (Species In Depth and Breeding), they explain more about what the species is. There are many original species out there that have a canine base (Water Dogs, Bubble Dogs, etc to name a few). It's the extra things and back story/full information that makes them different and original (i.e. the Zaide Species In Depth link). If people would actually read the in depth descriptions and otherwise, they would know that this species is not just a "colorful wolf" and I have actually put a lot of time into designing these and making them original. I ask that you please read all of the information about them before critiquing. Thank you.

Zaide Basics / History:
The Zaide species started with the breeding of a wolf and hellhound, making the first ever cross. No more of this cross were produced. Eventually their descendant, an unnamed male, had many puppies, though only with full blooded wolves. Gradually the blood was diluted down so that only a small portion of demonic blood remained. Canines with this small portion of blood are called Zaides (plural, Zaide singular). 
Because of their demonic blood, Zaides are able to shift forms at any time (though mostly when they feel threatened or angered). In their normal form, Zaide females are typically 4.5-6 feet tall at the shoulder, with males being 5-6.5 feet. In their shifted form, Zaides are double their normal size, helping to aid them in combat. 
The influence of demonic blood allows Zaides to be any color (including those not able to occur in canines). Most of the time, a Zaide's colors will reflect their element, though any c (This is a link, click it!) ---



Features:
~ Un-Shifted Features ~

* Fur: 
Zaide either have a furry coat (like wolves), or a smooth coat like most short-hair dogs. In the case of an uncommon 'mutation', a Zaide may have extra long fur on its neck and chest, as well as on the backs of its legs/paws . (Can be any color; colors can be added to the shifted form, but the main ones do not change)

* Ears: 
Zaide most commonly have ears similar to a wolf, but has uncommon variations of curved ears (always inwards), or one floppy ear.

* Paws: 
Zaide typically have paws similar to a wolf, but have uncommon variations for longer nails or extra fur on the back of the legs or paws.

* Misc. Uncommon Traits: 
Zaide can have any of the mutations pictured above (with a max of 3)


~ Shifted Features ~
When enraged/threatened, a Zaide will almost always shift forms, the shifted form is always double the size of it's original form. 
They may shift at any time, however.
- Their eyes will glow (only in shifted form), when they are angry and/or in the moonlight.

* Paws:
Nails will either elongate, fur will be on the backs of the legs/paws, or both.

* Wings:
A Zaide in shifted form will either have 'bat' wings, butterfly wings, angel wings, or a special kind of wings (that do not touch the body), as shown above.

* Type:
A Zaide's abilities is determined by it's type. They are as follows: Air, Fire, Earth, Water, Ice, Poison, Fairy, Ghost, Electric

* Misc Trait:
A shifted Zaide has a 10% chance of having two different colored eyes.

- Fangs will always elongate. All other features do not change in their shifted form.

- Zaide are very territorial and often do not get along well with other species. 

- Zaide are immortal (they grow fast originally - maturing from birth to full size in three months time, after that they do not age/grow any larger).

- Zaide have demonic blood (though a small amount), which is the reason they can shift.

- Can be male or female (female tend to be slimmer than males with a lighter frame, also typically gentler in nature).

- Prefer to alone or in pairs rather than in a pack.
